💸 Cancelling Your Order — Only to Find the Price Increased

We get it.
It’s frustrating when you place an order, get excited about your purchase, and then find out the price has gone up — especially if it looks like it was cancelled “just to charge more.”

Let’s be real — if that were true, that would be a total jerk move.
But here at Indo4ward, that’s not what’s happening. So let’s break it down.

🔍 What Really Happens Behind the Scenes

Indo4ward operates differently from a typical online store. We don’t hold stock or control the sellers’ listings directly — we source, purchase, and ship products from Indonesian marketplaces like Tokopedia on behalf of customers around the world.

When we receive your order, we identify:

  • The product cost,
  • Its dimensions and weight, and
  • The shipping method best suited for your country.

This helps us calculate an accurate all-in cost for you before checkout.

However, here’s where it can get tricky.

⚖️ When Sellers Declare Incorrect Information

Sometimes sellers on marketplaces like Tokopedia declare inaccurate dimensions or weights.
For example, a seller might list a pair of car headlamps as weighing only 2kg in total.
In reality?
Just one headlamp can weigh around 2.5kg — and the size (volumetric weight) makes it count for 4–5kg per piece.

When we discover these discrepancies during verification, it changes the actual cost of shipping — often quite significantly.

So, if a customer’s order was quoted at, say, SGD 80, but after validation the real cost (including shipping and packaging) is SGD 100 or more, we’re faced with a tough decision.

🚫 Why We Sometimes Have to Cancel

In these cases, Indo4ward cancels the order — not to raise margins, but to reassess the real cost so we can still serve the customer without incurring a major loss.

We understand it’s frustrating, but here’s why it’s necessary:

  • We don’t want to process an order that would cost more to ship than its total value.
  • We want to maintain fairness across all orders.
  • We want to keep Indo4ward sustainable, so we can continue helping customers buy from Indonesia affordably.

When we re-list or re-quote the order, the price you see is the corrected total based on verified details. If you’re still interested, we’ll happily process it again at the updated cost.

💬 “But Retailers Don’t Do That!”

That’s true — but Indo4ward isn’t a traditional retailer.
Retailers hold and manage their own stock. They know their products, storage, and logistics inside out.

Indo4ward, on the other hand, acts as your bridge to Indonesia’s marketplaces. We rely on real-time data from sellers, and when that data is wrong, it impacts everything downstream — especially shipping.

That’s why our business model is different:

  • We prioritize accuracy and transparency, not shortcuts.
  • When something’s off, we’d rather fix it than fulfill an order that doesn’t make financial or operational sense.

❤️ Our Commitment

When an order cancellation happens, it’s not about profit — it’s about sustainability and fairness.

If we can absorb a small difference, we often do — especially if it helps our customers. But when the loss is significant, we must correct it to keep our operations running smoothly.

We’ll always communicate transparently, explain why, and give you the choice to proceed with the corrected price.

Because at the end of the day, Indo4ward isn’t here to take advantage of you.
We’re here to make global access to Indonesian products possible — and sustainable.
